If you have a pet, you have a series of responsibilities, they are only legal, but moral. Not only towards other people but even towards your own dog. If you have a pet, surely what you want is to have is love and a certain company. If you have a dog, in short, it is because you want to have fun and want to enjoy sharing your moments with someone other than you. Therefore, you should educate your dog and stimulate him, get used to normal life and make your dog socialize.
1. You must provide your dog with enough exercise.
Provide your dog with the right amount of exercise according to the kind of dog that is. It is possible that a miniature dog feels better playing or catching the ball as an exercise, while a labrador needs to take long walks for at least 30 to 45 minutes twice a day to burn his energies. The terrier are often able to run all day without getting tired. Exercising a lot helps burn your dog's excess energy. Be sure to take your dog for a walk. Your dog should do at least two small walks or one large one a day. Nobody wants their dog to escape. Place a fence so that the dog cannot escape.
2. You must stimulate your dog's mind with reward-based training.
It is important that you teach your dog to sit, stay still and come to you when you call him. Most dogs enjoy a personalized training session and these sessions help your dog develop a bond with you. You should train it for a period of 10 to 20 minutes, twice a day, depending on the concentration period of your dog. Always finish each session in a positive way. You must give your dog a prize every time he obeys your order.
3. You must try and get your dog to socialize.
When you reach 18 weeks of age, you will think that these aspects are normal and you will not be afraid in the future. Expose your dog to different experiences even if you got it as an adult. Be careful not to overwhelm your dog or frighten him if he doesn't feel comfortable.
4. Let the dog play and show behaviors that are normal for its breed.
Grandparents, like the Basset and St. Hubert's dogs, love to sniff. You should give your dog time to sniff his environment. You may want to turn this aspect into a game where you leave a path of smells for your dog to follow the trail.
In addition to the functions described above, you must also perform other similar functions, as they are the following:
1. Treat your dog with respect.
Just as people try to treat each other correctly and try to be respectful when we turn to others, animals also demand respect and obviously we have to give it to them.
2. Keep in mind that your dog has basic needs that must be met.
Like humans, animals have their needs, but they do not have that rational ability to access certain sites to carry out their needs. Therefore, it is we who must help them meet their basic needs.
3. Make sure your dog has access to a comfortable place to sleep and does not stay outside in extreme temperatures.
Register your dog and place labels on its collar. A dog also has its identity. Obviously, there are different types of dogs, but each dog is someone different, legally, although there are many dogs of the same breed. One thing is race and the other is identity. Both are very important; the breed is because it determines the physical appearance and personality of the dog. But identity is also very important since the owners of a dog are civilly responsible for those acts performed by the dog.
4. Develop a bond of mutual love and respect with your dog.
It is important to maintain a good relationship with our dog. Well, after all, we have a dog to have a company and have fun. We want to have one more member in our family, but a special member is a dog. Therefore, as a family member, we must generate a bond of mutual love and we must respect it, as it is a member as respectable as any other.
